The founder of Blued, a prominent LGBTQ social platform, Geng Le, has introduced a new male-male social application called “Qing Chu Yu Lan.” The project secured two rounds of financing in January 2026, raising tens of millions of RMB. It emphasizes AI integration to improve social interactions and user experience.

Industry reports indicate that “Qing Chu Yu Lan” is positioned as a next-generation tool for male-male networking, differing from Blued’s foundational model. In interviews, Geng stated the app aims to leverage technology to redefine interpersonal linkages. Key features may include an AI-based content moderation system using image recognition and semantic analysis for real-time risk filtering, minimizing compliance issues; additionally, AI algorithms could examine user chats, behaviors, and preferences to create comprehensive profiles, enabling matches based on deeper compatibility rather than superficial traits.

Furthermore, the initiative is expected to enhance health services, such as an AI health advisor where users upload reports for personalized recommendations, partnered with offline clinics for streamlined appointments. This addresses sector challenges: persistent demand for male-male social spaces amid regulatory pressures and monetization hurdles. Blued achieved Nasdaq listing in 2020, becoming a global benchmark with over 40 million users at peak, but recent app store removals highlight environmental uncertainties.

Geng’s background provides a competitive edge: from launching a community site in 2000 to scaling Blued, his user insights and industry knowledge are unparalleled. The funding will support team growth, tech development, and compliance efforts. Analysts suggest the app could stand out in niche markets if it balances innovation with community warmth, though it must navigate regulatory boundaries and saturation risks.

This development underscores resilience in LGBTQ digital services: despite external constraints, connection needs fuel ongoing innovation. The project’s trajectory remains to be seen but injects fresh energy into the sector.
